Definition:

Features that are targeted for the upcoming release, but could be excluded if there are insufficient resources to finalize their development. These are the complement of objectives or requirements that are considered desired or even important to the overall deliverables, but can be considered as optional or nice-to-have in the overall completion of the project.

MoSCoW | Glossary

Definition:

MoSCoW is a prioritization technique letters stand for:

  • Must Have
  • Should Have
  • Could Have
  • Won’t Have this time

The use of MoSCoW works particularly well on projects. It also overcomes the problems associated with simpler prioritization approaches which are based on relative priorities.

Origin:

  • This prioritization method was developed by Dai Clegg.
