Genba (or Gemba) in Software Development, refers to the place where the actual work that generates value and output takes place. It helps you keep track of activities, or tasks taking place in a project.

Origin
It’s a Japanese term which means ‘the real place’, or a place, where ‘value is created’.

Definition
Flow, in Agile Software development is defined as the steady, and consistent progress of work to ensure maximum economic value is delivered to the customer.

Origin
The sense of “any strong, progressive movement comparable to the flow of a river” is from 1640’s. Used in Software development since late 1980’s.
