Non-Functional Requirements | Glossary

Definition

Nonfunctional Requirements (NFR’s) help define system attributes such as performance, security, maintainance, reliability, scalability and usability. Also known as ‘System Qualities’, they act as restrictions/ constraints on the design of the system across different backlogs. Equally as important and critical as functional Epics, Features, Capabilities and Stories, they ensure the effectiveness and usage o the entire system. Failing to meet even one of them can result in systems that fail to satisfy internal business or market needs.
