Clean Agile | Book Series

Overview:

Authored by one of the original signatories of the Agile Manifesto, Clean Agile presents multiple choices to say ‘use your best judgement’ and also guides you what choices to make and why those are critical for success. This book is written in Agile context but offers direct answers to many crucial questions such as;

  • How and why did Agile started?
  • What are the benefits of going Agile?
  • Which are the most effective Agile practices to ensure success?
  • How to organise an Agile team?
  • How to define roles of team members?
  • How can Agile be implemented in large projects.

It is an essential book to read for programmers, managers, project managers, testers and everyone involved in an Agile project.

Organizational Patterns of Agile Software Development | Book Series

Overview:

This book is drawn from a decade of research and highlights the human and organisational dimension of software improvement processes and software project management, be it based on CMM or ISO 9000 or the Rational Unified Process. The contents of the book focuses on practices based on common-sense.

Jim and Neil, the authors have put forward general but concrete principles – every pattern is its own built-in example. Grady Booch, IBM Fellow describes the book as remarkably wise, full of pragmatic advice drawn from real projects. He adds that software development is a human experience and Jim and Neil have captured the essence of that experience.

It is a good read for a layperson, too.
