Definition
In a Gantt chart, a series of horizontal lines show the amount of work done and/or production completed in certain periods of time, in relation to the amount of work planned for said periods
Origin
Developed as a production control tool, in 1917 by Henry L. Gantt, an American engineer and social scientist.
