Definition :
The Toyota Production System (TPS) is an integrated socio-technical system, developed by Toyota, that comprises its management philosophy and practices. The TPS organizes manufacturing and logistics for the automobile manufacturer, as well as interaction with suppliers and customers. The system could be a major precursor of the more generic “lean manufacturing”.

Shortest job first is a scheduling algorithm within which the method with the tiniest execution time is chosen for execution next. Shortest job first is either preemptive or non-preemptive. owing to its easy nature, shortest job first is considered optimal. It additionally reduces the average waiting time for alternative processes awaiting execution.
