When Culture Blocks the Flow: Overcoming Organizational Barriers to DevSecOps
Abstract
The successful adoption of DevSecOps goes beyond tooling and automation; it requires an organizational culture that encourages experimentation, fosters trust, and breaks down silos between teams. Unfortunately, many large organizations face cultural barriers that block the flow of critical information, undermining collaboration and hindering the effectiveness of DevSecOps. In this session, you’ll learn about a set of facilitation tools ("Fear in the Workplace" and "Safety in the Workplace") that can help you identify the signs of a toxic culture, and create space for open conversations about the "elephant in the room." We’ll introduce practical strategies for building psychological safety across individuals, teams, and leadership—key practices that can drive the cultural shift necessary for DevSecOps success.
