The Kanban University (KU) Accredited Kanban Trainer Program is designed for experienced Kanban professionals who want to offer certified training in the Kanban Method.
Completion of the Kanban Train the Trainer (TTT) course is a required step in the process of becoming an Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT). The TTT course tests accepted participants' Kanban knowledge and teaches them how to deliver the Kanban University course curriculum in a classroom setting. This course does not teach Kanban fundamentals, as students are expected to have taken, applied and mastered Kanban System Design and Kanban Systems Improvement. Prior to attending TTT, it is necessary to have a strong proficiency in the Kanban Method as taught by KU.
This class will also cover the newly created Scrum Better With Kanban class that targets Scrum practitioners and provides guidance for how Kanban practices and principles can be applied on top of Scrum implementations to make them significantly better.
This is an interactive and collaborative course designed to assess current Kanban knowledge, promote knowledge sharing and deeper learning among the participants, and will also discuss the challenges faced by Kanban trainers.
Prerequisites:
The TTT is an assessment course. It will measure each participant's ability to present the Team Kanban Practitioner, Kanban System Design, and Kanban Systems Improvement courses effectively and knowledgeably. The TTT Trainers will be evaluating each participant's ability to present the course materials. Participants will be expected to master the entire course materials and know how they would present them to students before the TTT class begins. During the class, the trainers will provide guidance, clarification, and feedback in order to help the participants on their training journey. The course will also assess each participant's working Kanban knowledge through the presentation of their case study and class exercises/quizzes.
Thorough and thoughtful preparation and practice for this class is key!
At the end of this course, each participant’s performance will be evaluated. Participants may be granted approval to teach all three (TKP, KSD, and KSI) courses or a portion of them based on their performance in the TTT class. Additional steps for full approval may include co-training with an established AKT, further study, or additional meetings with a TTT Trainer. Kanban University always provides a path to full approval.
Fully approved and licensed AKTs may teach and certify KU foundation courses and provide trainings within their own organizations, to consulting clients, and may conduct their own public classes.
