Through this Coach the Trainer course, you’ll learn how to deliver the new Scrum Better with Kanban course. The course, built upon multiple discovery sessions with Scrum practitioners, is designed to inform and educate individuals on how to improve their Scrum implementation with a greater understanding of what flow is, how to investigate it, and how to identify and initially start resolving problems using practices and tools from the Kanban Method. Through surveys and interviews we have identified two major frequent pain points faced by Scrum practitioners:

• Achieving stable and predictable flow
• Designing and implementing a change experiment in the presence of resistance

Training Scrum with Kanban

We will coach, align, and validate your ability to deliver this material by covering the following areas and topics.

• Introduction to the Scrum Better with Kanban Course
• Target market, problems, and overarching product goals
• Review of course architecture
• Practice and testing your ability to deliver the course exercises
• Understanding the marketing messages, materials, and how to address your local market
• Review your feedback to further improve the course
• Planning ahead for your course delivery and what Kanban University expects of you once you’ve delivered the course (hint: this course is evolving based on your feedback)

Can I Attend This Training?

This coach the trainer course is available to any approved Accredited Kanban Trainers that meet the following prerequisites.

• You must be fully approved to teach all three foundation courses (TKP, KSD, and KSI)
• Your license with Kanban University must be in good standing
• You have read the latest Scrum Guide

Optional: Experience

• While we pride ourselves on pragmatic actionable evidence based guidance, we also recognize that some trainers may not have had much hands-on experience when using the Scrum Framework; especially under some circumstances where you’ve applied Kanban with Scrum. Any experience is welcome and we think anyone with Scrum experience will benefit a lot from this CTT.

Course Deliverables

• All participants will receive the Scrum Kanban Practitioner (SKP) credential.
• Participants who have successfully demonstrated their ability to deliver the material to the trainer’s satisfaction will also receive approval to deliver the SBK course on behalf of Kanban University
• A day full of coaching, training, learning, and fun with your peers and with experts with experience applying both Scrum and Kanban in business settings.
